Spain sent another 107 troops to battle a forest fire which has burnt more than 2,000 hectares (5,000 acres )in the northeastern region of Zuera near Zaragoza on Wednesday, the government said on Wednesday.

MADRID, SPAIN: August 7, 2008.- Backed up by fire trucks and four air force planes, 285 soldiers are now fighting the blaze, as Spain suffers a severe heat wave which has pushed temperatures up near 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) in parts of the country.

Local residents evacuated from the nearby town of Castejon de Valdejasa have been able to return to their homes.
