A 40-ft whale has been found dead in the River Humber, a marine rescue charity said on Friday

LONDON, UK; November 3, 2007.- Medics from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue team found the whale after people had reported seeing it on Monday.

The coastguard has issued a “danger to shipping” notice, but the carcass is expected to wash up as the tide recedes.

Whales are prone to becoming stranded in the Humber on England’s east coast. In 2006, a Humpback became trapped and died and a Sperm whale died near Spurn head.
