JAGUAR: WANTED
10.20.06 - Leído 743 veces. Enviar esta notaFeline captured by a Circus
Hermosillo, Sonora October 20th, 2006.-We have recently received some reports of a circus promoting it self throughout Sonora, with a jaguar in a cage.
Although generally circuses have the permits for their animals we have reasons to believe that this is not the case. Jaguars are not common in circuses in this region, and we also received a report of some colleagues that saw a jaguar jailed in a Pick-up.
They asked the people carrying him and were told they had captured it in their ranch and were about to sell it to a circus. A few days after that incident, we started receiving reports of the circus.
Naturalia, Mexican environmental organization is working with PROFEPA, the environmental authority, to carry out any necessary actions but we need your help.
PLEASE CONATCT US IF:
1: YOU SAW THE CIRCUS AND REMEMBER THE NAME
2: IF YOU KNOW WHERE THE CIRCUS IS RIGHT NOW OR WHERE IT WAS RECENTLY
3: IF YOU TOOK A PICTURE OF THE JAGUAR
All reports will be confidential. We will do the follow-up with PROFEPA. We only need that info.
Help us so that the jaguar keeps leaving its paw-print in Sonora.
