LIMA RESIDENTS CATCH FOG FOR WATER
A group of residents and university students build a net to collect water from fogs for Llanavilla shanty town on the hillside of Villa Maria Del Triunfo in Lima, Peru.
The volleyball net-like structure trap moisture from fogs that pass through from the Pacific Ocean, collecting around 150 liters of water a day during the winter months.
The project directed by Abel Cruz, who heads ‘Peruvians without Water’, shall build 20 nets in Llanavilla that is expected to irrigate 74 acres of desert land.
